Event Horizon lamp

The luminaire aims to bring moments of wonder, similar to what we feel when we gaze at the night sky. The lamp takes us onto a journey further away, into the unknown cosmos.

The event horizon lamp, part of ONNDA COLLECTION is inspired by the cosmic term ‘event horizon’, meaning: the boundary defining the region of space around a black hole from which nothing (not even light) can escape. We found this notion fascinating and decided to create a lamp that brings the cosmos closer and pays homage to the Great unknown.

Since the light source emits only white light, all the colorful shades are a result of optical phenomena such as birefringence, refraction, and reflection, the result of our Studio’s commitment to material innovation.

CATRINEL’S WORK STRADDLES BETWEEN PRODUCT DESIGN, INSTALLATION, AND SCULPTURE. Her multidisciplinary approach often finds its roots in science and philosophy, whilst the making, quite experimental, is oriented towards material exploration. Catrinel’s work is driven by her interests in perception&movement. The themes she tackles most are time perception, entropy, light, and nature. Through her interactive objects, she designs experiences that challenge perception and visualize the invisible forces that surround them in an engaging manner. This brings reality into a new light, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
